The Open Art Studio typically fits 30 to 35 guests, depending on how much room your workshop needs for tables, materials, movement, or creative chaos.

Some formats may be able to accommodate up to 40 guests with advance notice and a little extra planning.

The Mural Room works best for groups of 10 to 20, depending on the workshop type and how much space each person needs.

Art, craft, photography, writing, movement, design, business skills, sound baths, book clubs, or something we haven’t thought of yet are all welcome.

The best fit is something that invites people to participate, connect, make, learn, or try something new.

That depends on the room and pricing model you choose.

Open Art Studio workshops use a revenue share model, so there is no upfront rental cost.

Mural Room workshops can use either revenue share or a flat rental rate of $75/hr.

Make Well members receive a better revenue share rate. You can also add marketing support in exchange for a larger percentage of ticket revenue.

Revenue share is based on net ticket revenue after refunds, sales tax, and payment-processing fees have been deducted.

For example, if your workshop brings in $1,000 in ticket sales and $100 goes toward sales tax and processing fees, the net ticket revenue would be $900.

With a standard 70/30 revenue split:

• You would receive $630

• Make Well would receive $270

Your final share will be based on the option we agree on before your workshop goes live.

Nope. Anyone can apply to host a workshop at Make Well.

Members receive a better revenue share rate, but membership is not required.

For revenue share workshops, we do. For flat-rate rentals, that part is up to you.

For revenue share events, Make Well will create the registration page, collect payments, and manage the attendee list. Before registration opens, we’ll work with you to confirm the workshop description, ticket price, capacity, and other important details.

If you focus on creating a great workshop, we’ll handle the checkout buttons.

You’ll provide a short bio and workshop description. We’ll create the event listing, design the promotional materials, and share your workshop on our social media 2–3 times and with our email list.

We can’t guarantee attendance, but we’ll make sure your workshop is thoughtfully promoted to the Make Well community.

Start by looking at similar workshops in Salt Lake City and nearby communities. Pay attention to the length, materials included, instructor experience, and overall experience being offered.

Your ticket price should cover your material costs, preparation time, teaching time, and revenue share while still feeling reasonable for your audience.

You’re responsible for planning and leading the workshop, providing the necessary materials, communicating your setup needs, arriving with enough time to prepare, and leaving the space clean and organized afterward.

We’ll talk through the timeline, setup, and responsibilities with you before your workshop is officially confirmed.

Instructors are responsible for providing all materials and supplies needed for their workshop unless otherwise agreed upon in writing.

Please include any material costs when setting your proposed ticket price. Let us know in advance if you need access to specific equipment, furniture, sinks, storage, or additional setup space.

You will be paid as a 1099 independent contractor through Make Well’s online payment portal.

Payment is typically issued within two to three weeks after the workshop. Your payment will reflect your share of net ticket revenue after refunds, sales tax, and payment-processing fees have been deducted.
